How to Support Us
Flowers and Grass.jpg

Living Justice Press brings together professionals from the fields of restorative justice and publishing. Our publishing model is not traditional. We approach each book as a cooperative venture with the author(s) and the communities to which they are connected. Decisions about development, production, and marketing are made by consensus.

We strive to generate materials that are useful to those engaged in community peacemaking. We are committed to publishing books that are clearly written, attractively produced, made to last, and affordably priced.

During our start-up years, our small staff has, of necessity, worked on a volunteer basis. One of our goals is to build our capacity to publish books and promote them more extensively by establishing a paid full-time staff.

Book publishing is expensive. The costs include manuscript development, copyediting, exterior and interior design, typesetting, proofreading, paper, print and binding. Warehousing, fulfillment, and shipping are additional costs, as are marketing and promotion.

To date, we have produced our books with the gracious help of private funders. These include the Sexton Foundation, the Fund for Nonviolence, BVM Ministries, and individual donors.

As we build a backlist of titles, we will become increasingly self-sustaining. Until then, we depend on the financial support of those who believe in our work.
